birthday boy

My sweet baby is now 1 year old. The day was filled with our usual walk/run on the monon, an expensive trip to the dog bakery, and a photo session. I am sure that is just what he wanted... in fact, he told me so :)

To say he is spoiled would be an understatement. See why.

with a heavy heart...

I write this blog post with a very heavy heart.

Over the weekend, my boyfriend's uncle passed away unexpectedly. I had the chance to photograph his beautiful family just last summer. These pictures bring tears to my eyes. Sad tears and happy tears. Sad because Charley will be missed dearly but happy that I could document their family the way that I did. Being able to capture emotion, love, and relationships in a photograph... now comes with a whole new meaning. These photographs will last forever. So his boys can one day look at them and remember their sweet father. Carrie, William and George... you are in our prayers.





Here is a little segment from the obituary that made me smile...

"His mornings were made complete with a perfect latte, a walk to school with William and George and a kiss from his beautiful wife..."

"Charley was a dedicated father, husband, son and brother, a devoted friend, and respected lawyer. He will be greatly missed."
